Frequently Asked Questions
Understanding the Method
What is Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT®)?
Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) is a therapeutic approach designed to help you identify and change the beliefs that influence how you think, feel, and respond to situations in your life, often without you even realizing it.
Many of these beliefs operate at a subconscious level, which means they can shape your reactions automatically, until you begin to question them.
RTT® combines hypnotherapy with elements of several therapeutic approaches to identify the belief behind a particular reaction, understand why the mind formed it in the first place, and begin to shift how it influences your responses today.
The aim is not to analyse the past endlessly, but to understand how a belief formed and see it from the perspective you have now as an adult. With that awareness, the belief begins to lose its influence, creating space for new responses and choices.
RTT® was developed by therapist Marisa Peer and is practiced by trained practitioners worldwide.
What kind of challenges can RTT® help with?
Many people come to this work with a sense that something in their life doesn’t feel quite right anymore, even if it’s difficult to explain exactly why.
Sometimes it shows up as feeling disconnected from yourself, questioning your decisions, or noticing the same thoughts, reactions, or situations repeating in different areas of life.
RTT® is particularly helpful when certain reactions feel difficult to change, even when you understand them logically.
You might recognise experiences such as:
- persistent anxious thoughts, overthinking, or emotional overwhelm
- difficulty setting boundaries or trusting your own decisions
- perfectionism, people-pleasing, or feelings of guilt
- procrastination or feeling blocked despite good intentions
- repeating dynamics in relationships or communication
- a general sense of feeling disconnected from yourself or your direction
Instead of focusing only on surface behaviour, the process helps you identify the beliefs and interpretations that drive these reactions.
What if I don’t know exactly what my issue is?
That’s completely okay. Many people arrive with a general sense that something isn’t quite right, even if they can’t clearly describe the underlying cause.
Part of the process is exploring your experiences together and identifying the beliefs or reactions that may be shaping how you respond to certain situations.
You don’t need to have everything figured out beforehand. The consultation call and the first session help bring clarity to what might be driving the patterns you’re experiencing.
Is RTT® right for me?
RTT® is right for you if you’re willing to engage with the process openly and honestly, and if you’re ready to look a little deeper at the beliefs that are shaping your reactions.
This work is collaborative. I guide and support you, but your willingness to reflect, stay curious about your experience, and engage with the process plays an important role.
The process also includes listening to your personalised audio and integrating the insights from the session into everyday life. These steps help the changes take root and become more natural over time.
This approach is not about quickly removing symptoms or applying surface-level solutions. It focuses on understanding what has been driving certain reactions and creating the conditions for a different response to emerge.
Many people find that with greater understanding and the right tools, they begin to relate to themselves and to life’s challenges with more awareness, steadiness, and self-trust.
What is hypnosis, and how does it work?
A hypnotic state isn’t something mysterious or out of reach, it’s a natural, deeply focused state of awareness that most people already experience.
It’s the same state you enter when you’re daydreaming, lost in thought, or absorbed in music and the outside world briefly fades into the background.
In this relaxed yet focused state, the analytical part of the mind becomes quieter, making it easier to access the deeper layer of the mind where many of our beliefs, interpretations, and emotional responses are stored.
Through hypnosis, we can gently explore that inner space, not to relive the past, but to understand it differently.
You remain aware and in control throughout the entire session. You can speak, move, or open your eyes whenever you wish.
Most people simply experience hypnosis as a calm and focused state that allows them to understand their reactions with greater clarity.
Is hypnosis safe? Are there any situations where it’s not recommended?
Yes, hypnosis is considered a safe and well-established practice when used in a professional setting. It’s a collaborative process, nothing is “done to you,” and you remain aware and in control throughout the session.
Most people simply experience hypnosis as a deeply relaxed and focused state.
There are, however, a few situations where hypnosis is not recommended. It is generally not suitable for individuals who have experienced psychotic episodes, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder with psychosis, or for those with epilepsy, as trance-like states may trigger symptoms.
If you are currently under psychiatric care or taking medication for a mental health condition, it’s important to mention this during your consultation so we can determine together whether this approach is appropriate for you.
Your wellbeing always comes first.
Sessions & Process
Do I need to prepare for a session?
No special preparation is required.
Before the session, you’ll receive a short form that helps clarify what you would like to work on and gives me a better understanding of your experience.
If your session takes place online, a few simple things can help you feel more comfortable and focused:
- choose a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted
- make sure your device is fully charged and your internet connection is stable
- use headphones for a clearer experience
- have water, tissues, or a blanket nearby if that helps you feel comfortable
You can sit or lie down during the session, the most important thing is that you feel relaxed and able to focus.
It can also help to give yourself a few minutes before the session to settle and clear your mind, especially if you’re coming from a busy day.
After the session, many people prefer to take things slowly for a little while. Drinking water, resting, or spending some quiet time can help you integrate the experience more comfortably.
Is online hypnotherapy as effective as in-person sessions?
Yes. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions.
RTT® and hypnotherapy work through guided conversation and focused attention, which means the process works equally well whether we meet online or in the same room.
In fact, many people find it easier to relax and focus when they are in their own familiar environment.
All you need for an online session is a quiet and private space, a stable internet connection, and headphones.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on the situation you would like to work on.
Sometimes a single focused session can bring clarity and help shift a specific pattern. In other cases, several beliefs or areas of life are connected, and exploring them gradually allows the changes to integrate more naturally.
For this reason, I offer different ways of working together, from a focused process addressing one specific issue to a deeper process that explores several patterns over a longer period of time.
The aim of this work is not long-term dependency, but helping you develop the awareness and understanding needed to continue navigating your experiences with greater clarity and self-trust.
During the consultation call, we can talk about what you’re experiencing and decide together which option would be the most appropriate starting point.
When will I start to notice results?
People experience change in different ways.
Some notice a shift in their perspective or emotional response soon after the session. For others, changes appear more gradually as new awareness begins to influence how they respond in everyday situations.
Sometimes the difference becomes clear only in hindsight, when you realise that situations that once triggered the same reaction no longer affect you in the same way.
There is no single “right” timeline. What matters most is staying engaged with the process, listening to your audio, and allowing the insights from the session to integrate into daily life.
Why do I need to listen to my personalized audio?
Your personalised audio is an important part of the process.
During the session, we identify the belief that has been shaping a particular reaction and begin shifting the way the mind understands those earlier experiences. The recording helps reinforce that new understanding.
Listening to the audio regularly allows the mind to become familiar with the new perspective and supports the integration of the insights from the session.
Over time, this repetition helps the new way of thinking and responding feel more natural in everyday situations.
